Laurie Booth has been actively involved with movement, dance and performance for thirty years. A leading figure in the contemporary dance world, he has been highly influential upon the current generation of dancers and choreographers. His work has always been characterised by a mix of physical rigour and spontaneous abandon.
Effortless flow and rapid changes of dynamic and direction have become trademark features of his work. Combined with an extraordinary talent for improvisation and extempore movement, his movement style is eclectic and spellbinding. Originally trained at Dartington College in its heyday of nurturing the emerging new dance movement, he went on to work in physical theatre in Poland before starting to create his own work in 1980.
